Stanford University is one of the world's best & prestigious universities. It is a private research university located in Stanford (Silicon Valley), California, United States. The University is officially named Leland Stanford Junior University, and simply referred as Stanford. It's top university in the measurement of various rankings and measures in the world. 

Founded in 1885 by Leland Stanford, former Governor of and U.S. Senator from California and his wife, in the memory of their only one son; who had died cause of typhoid fever at the age of 15, Stanford started in 1891.The prime campus is located between San Francisco and Palo Alto; in the northern part of Santa Clara Valley: is now best know as Silicon Valley. There are other holdings properties; likes laboratories, and nature reserves; are situated out of main campus. The main campus has 8,180-acre (3,310 ha) areas: is one of the largest in the United States. It has more than 700 buildings. Stanford is one of the leading fundraising educational institutions in the united state, which raise more than a billion of dollars within a year.

Stanford’s institutional strength is broad with 40 departments in the 3 academic schools for undergraduate students and another 4 professional schools graduate students. All degrees are offered through these schools. Stanford students play in 36 varsity games, and Stanford is one of the 2 private organizations or organizations in the Division I FSB Pacific-12 Conference. Stanford has got 107 NCAA team championships, and 476 individual championships, most in Division I.

Admissions and Financial Aids

Stanford admitted 5.07% of applicants making it the dream school of many for the class of 2018. It is lowest in the history of Stanford. U.S. undergraduate applicants are admitted on a need-blind basis, and the university offers substantial financial aid to help families manage the cost. Stanford full-time undergraduate tuition is $42,690 for 2014-15. Stanford enrolls students on an absolutely 100% of need-blind basis–a family’s financial status is not a factor in admission for US Citizens and permanent residents but is not applied for international students. Stanford has a no-loan policy. The university awarded %126 million dollar in need-based financial aid to student in 2012-13. Eighty percent of students get some of financial support. But Stanford has a no-loan policy. The tuition, room, and board for most families with income below %125,000 are waived for undergraduate admitted students, and are not required to pay tuition; and those with income up to $150,000 per years are reduced significantly But Graduate study aid is determined of availability of funds as well as academic merit. Nearly 85% of graduate student get some form of financial aid.
